2004 FPV Open Day
Campbellfield, VIC.

Sunday Feb 29th, 2004

Didn't get to much sleep over the last few nights. Woke up at 6am, looking very much like a zombie, packed my stuff, and headed down to the carpark with the rest of the club members to get ready to go to the show.

I was one of the first to leave the hotel, and started to follow "Bishop" towards FPV. I don't know what way he went, but when I got to FPV, everyone else was already there (and they hadn't driven past us). Hmmm...

Didn't take too long to get all the cars organised, and looking shiny. When I saw 2 of the guys engine bay's looking very grubby, I took over and cleaned them up for them. (I have now taught them the wonders of what tyre shine can do to engine bay hoses).

There was a lot of nice looking cars there. I saw the guy that runs the Blue BA GT that competed in the 24HR last year. Chatted to him for a while. Ran into Kerry "TIKFD6" and his immaculate looking ED XR6.

Went over to the FPR race center to watch the opening ceremony, then spent a good hour inside watching the cars, and checking out all the merchandise.

At the end of the day, at the trophy presentation, the NSW club was quite surprised, and happy to hear that we had won the Best Club Display Trophy. Well done guys!!

With that all done and over, we headed back to the hotel, and then off to dinner. Cant wait for next year's FPV Day - Hopefully taking the XR8 again.
