Sydney Car Festival
I was hoping to have my car back on the road in time for the show, but as usual - it was taking a bit longer to get everything done. So on Friday I started calling people asking if they wanted a free entry ticket to the show. To my surprise, most people were saying no. "MissXR" was going to watch, but didn't want to enter her car, a few others also said similar things. Plus a few already had other plans for the weekend. In the end, I went over to "Kypez" house, and told him he was entering his car (Blueprint BA XR8), and dragged him down to scrutineering. On Sat morning, "Kypez" came over to get me, and we headed into the show. Did 2 laps before heading over to the dyno cell, where I ran into "MS J" Tracy. Chatted to Tracy for a while, and then the BA went on the dyno. It ran a healthy 266rwhp. I think Kypez was hoping for a bit more power after spending a substantial amount of money on Herrod engine mods. After leaving the dyno cell I went for a walk through the traders section. Scott from Street commodores was looking very tired standing at the stand. Chatted to him for a bit, and then headed out to look for his car (a century??). Spent the rest of the day looking all over the place at all the very sweet looking cars. Sunday morning, I headed down in the "Fairy Wagon". Only stayed for a few hours. before heading home. The show was a lot smaller than I had thought it would be. I went down expecting about 500+ cars, and was surprised to see only about 150. I guess its not bad for the first time. Maybe next year it will be a lot bigger, and hopefully they will promote it some more.
