2005 Sydney Car Festival
Rosehill, NSW.

Saturday Jan 29th - Sunday Jan 30th, 2004.

I was actually supposed to work this weekend, but luckily managed to do a shift swap to get to go. After spending all of Australia day cleaning my car, and "MRJUCY" (my mates XD), we were all ready to go to the show bright and early on Saturday morning.

6:50am MRJUCY pulled up outside my place, and then we headed on the 5 minute journey to get to Rosehill racecourse.

After going through scrutineering, we set up spot in the undercover area, and made our cars look pretty. For a change I decided not to enter all the events like I normally do at these car shows, and didnt go on the dyno, or even compete in the driving events. I was gonna go in the go to whoa, but ended up missing out on the saturday when I left it too late, and then missed out on the sunday when it rained. Oh well- maybe next year.

On the Saturday it was discovered, that the police display had my picture on there display board... not a picture of my car - a picture of me... I had to go and check this out for myself, and found a clipping of a newspaper article titled "Need for Speed" (see picture below). It is basically an article about me (they refer to me as "Street racer kelli") and how I go to the drags a lot. I cant remember saying half the things in the article, I had never seen it before, and I was a little embarrased to say the least. One of the copper's saw me and then say "hey thats you", and laughed when I was trying to cover it up.

I also ran into a couple of my mates - Rob & Simone and there HQ Monaro. It was quite a shock to see it, as I have only ever seen this car move once in the years that I have known them. The car pulled an impressive 330HP on the dyno.

Scott (used to work for Street commodores) was there again with his Centura (I hope I got that right).. but unfortunatly he had a slight altercation with a wall in the burnout comp.

Cant wait for next years show now!!! Hopefully it will be bigger and better. and maybe a few more trophy classes (I mean 1986+ is a pretty broad year range to group cars together)
