V8 Supercars.

Sunday April 28th 2002

After only a few hours sleep, I had to get up to make sure I was at the Pit Stop Cafe by 6am today. I was in so much of a rush to make sure I left on time, that I left the club banner at home.

Luckily I wasn't the only one running late. Just as I got onto the M4 to head out to Eastern creek, I got a call from "Adviliax Mortus" who had only just woken up, so I got him to stop off at my place to pick up the banner.

The club set up its display shortly after we got there. We roped off a large area for the club, put up out 2 tents (and the banner when it arrived) and we all sat down to watch the races.

At lunch time we had a very special guest visitor. Ford arranged for Craig Lowndes to come up to the club display to sign autographs, and have a few pics taken. Craig is a really cool guy. He signed heaps of stuff for everyone - flags, caps, shirts, books, even some holden gear for a nearby holden supporter.

It was shortly after this that I was packing some stuff away into my car, when one of the club members looked inside the car, and said loudly "6 speed gear knob?? why do you have that? you don't have a 6 speed!!". I just smiled and said "yes I do".
Quite a few people came over to look. I even had a couple of people trying to look under the car (but its too low to see anything)

Ford didn't end up winning the day, but we all had fun. And I had a good opportunity to test out 6th on the M4.
