Wednesday August 21st 2002. 

Time for some fun again.!! Been a while since I made it to the drags. 

I left work early and met up with a few of the guys from LS1.com.au at the shell near the track. We all turned up for registration at 3pm. 
At 3:30, we had all passed through scruiteneering, and were waiting in line for 5pm - when the races begin.

For my first run, I wanted to run "PIGVXSS", but got lined up against "EAT 5L" - a turbo corolla. I think he needs new number plates now. He never stood a chance!! hehe.

3 hours later, I was still waiting for my next run. There was a few spills, and they took ages cleaning it up. While I was waiting, a mate of mine "EB ON NOS" put some slicks on to my car.

At 8:30pm, I finally got my 2nd run. I lined up against one of the hercules cars (9 sec cars). He was still doing a burnout halfway down the strip when I was staging. He then backed up, and kept going back ?!?!.. next thing I know, someone is tapping on my window, and the lights are starting. I didn't have enough time to think.. I launched... and wheel spun BIG TIME. I hit 2nd, backed off a little... still spinning... going past the pits (were all the people watch from the roof) and the car starts going sideways... back off... still sideways. Never got traction once! Even did a 180 at the end of the straight when I tried to go around the bend. When I got back behind the pits, I told the guys of my little sideways adventures, and they all had done the same. "UNNN" had even managed a 20 sec pass going sideways (at least mine was a slightly more respectable 15.7).

Never got another run after that. It was a bit of a disappointment, but still fun all the same. 

Cant wait to get back out there, and have a run against "PIGVXSS".
