I finished work at 7am thismorning.. Got home at 7:40, and went to bed. I was up again by 11:30, had a bottle of Lift Plus, and at midday Kon and Robert where at my place and we where on our way out to the creek.

I was there with some of the guys from the Tickford Owners Club of NSW, and we got a special deal Our first 20 min session was free, and if we chose to stay for the rest of the day - it was only an extra $75. After we registered and had our safety breifing, we where put into groups, and then we hit the track.

This was my first time on a race track ever! I didnt want to go stupid, and try and break a lap record, as I had only gotten just under 4 hours sleep in the last 24 hours. I decided I was gonna take it easy right from the start. I wasnt even sure if I was gonna just do the free session, or stay for the full day.

It took me a while to get used to the idea of a race line. I was trying to keep up with some of the other cars to try and follow them. By the end of the first session I was getting the hang of it, and was addicted to it enough to fork over the extra $75 to stay for the rest of the day.

After the sessions we had plenty time for our cars to cool down as there where 2 other groups... the really experienced drivers, and also a group of motorcycles. So we had about 40 mins between sessions.

I think I improved a lot during the day - on my first session I was being overtaken by nearly all the cars. By the last session I was keeping up with a lot of the cars, and was only overtaken a few times.

One of the guys timed me on one of my laps and I got 165 secs. I am sure I did a bit better than that in my last session. Some of the other guys where getting between 125 secs and 140 secs, but they had all been on race tacks before.

I cant wait to get out there again and see what I can do next time - I am gonna try for a 150 sec lap or better.
