I wasn't sure if my car was going to be in MotorEx this year or not. The original line up was supposed to be a EF XR6, a TE50, and a BA XR8. However, the EF couldn't go, as the owners had other plans, the owner of the TE50 had to go to a wedding, and the BA XR8 had ummmm... warranty problems. Anyways - with 2 days to spare, Ben (aka Britney) put his car in, organised a loan car from Brad Garlick ford, and asked if I wanted to display mine. We arrived to setup on Friday night at 7pm. My sister followed me down, and stood around looking bored while we set up the display. She couldn't wait to get out of the place, but when we left and went to pick up a few mates to go to the movies, they all wanted to go down and check out the cars (I think the getting in for free bit got them). Its funny she seemed to really like it when her when she was there the 2nd time. (She couldn't stop talking about all the really cool cars most of the weekend) Saturday morning, I got a lift down nice and early with a club member (who was driving a VN !!). Spent most of the day hanging around the stand, and chatting to people (and wiping the drool off the pursuit ute) On the Sunday it was HEAPS busier than the sat, the pursuit ute still attracted a lot of attention (although most people thought it was an XR8 ute). I was exhausted by the time 6pm rolled round, but we managed to have the stand packed up into the back of the VN in no time. |
