My car has been off the road for almost 2 weeks now. 

Turns out the cause of the entire problem was cavitation in the water pump... The inside of the water pump got corroded away, and formed a hole in the timing chain case. From there the water just filled up the engine.

Needless to say - I have been rebuilding the engine eversince.  And while everything was apart, I decided to give it all a coat of paint.
