| I left to go to Melbourne after work on Friday Feb 23rd. It was the
first time I was going to Victoria and I wasnt sure how long the trip
would take.
I met up with Jeff and his White EL2 XR8 somewhere near liverpool, and I followed him down. We got into Melbourne about 1am on Saturday morning. Jeff (aka the U Turn King) kept driving past the hotel and we ended up doing about 5 U turns before we parked outside the hotel. |

We had to get up bright and early on Saturday morning to go to Tickford
for a meeting with the bosses and the presidents of the Tickford clubs
from around australia.
We helped mark out the spaces for where the cars would be the next day, and we had a sticky beak at the mustangs that were there. After that we had to find somewhere to wash all the bugs off out cars,
so they would look all nice and beautifull for the cruize around melbourne
that night. |
| We finally found a place to wash our cars, and we got back to Tickford
with about 15 mins to spare. Just enough time to put my front grill back
on my car - which had been taken off a few days before hand to get a respray.
The Saturday night cruize was cool. Over 100 XR's from all over Australia
met up at the Tickford factory, and we all went cruizing through the
streets of melbourne before ending up at Albert Park. |

The Guys from the Tickford club of NSW decided we where gonna be the
last ones to leave Albert park, so we coule have a little more "fun" leaving.
After that we went back to the hotel, parked our cars and went looking for a pub. We where walking around for over an hour looking for a pub that was open. We finally found a pub that was open, and only stayed there for about 30 mins, before we decided to just by some drinks at the bottle shop and go back to the hotel. |
| We had to get up really early on the Sunday morning, so we could pack
everything up and leave the hotel, and get to Tickford in time to set
up.
The morning was absolutly freezing, and we where sitting down, wrapped up in winter jackets shivering a lot. By 10am, the place was pretty crowded, and the sun decided to come
out. It wasnt long before everyone was putting there jackets away, and
looking for hats to keep the sun away. |

There was a lot of really nice cars on display. Mustangs, GT's, XR's, and even a replica GT40. |
