GTP at Wakefield Park

Sunday August 11th 2002

I finally got my new diff put in the other day, and I am currently running it in. This means I cant go over 80 km/hr for 500 km.

80 km/hr is 30 km/hr UNDER the limit on the way to wakefield!!

I decided to leave an hour earlier than everyone else, so I would get to wakefield at the same time as them. "Leopard1" from LS1 forums decided to keep me company, and drove down with me sitting on 80 km/hr the whole way too. We actually made it down there before the rest of the Sydney guys got there (I was sure they would have overtaken us at one point).

After a brief stop off at a cafe, we headed down towards the track. The Ute muster was on, and there was hundreds and hundreds of utes on display there. We met up with the tickford guys, and headed inside. "Leopard1" couldn't park with the tickford display, and ended up on top of the hill, with a better view than us anyway.

The racing was pretty fun. The brutes are so evenly matched it is cool! The Gow St smash team won the day (woohoo!!). Team Yamaha put on a good effort in the GTP, but unfortunately didn't get a place.

I left early to make it home at a reasonable hour. At least the diff is run in now, and I can have a little more fun.

Slowly followed Leopard1s car the way down.

The view... a car comes off the track. The ute muster is in front.
